Sydney is growing and Willoughby is growing. Willoughby Council needs to plan for this growth through strategic planning. The planning is guided by the community as well as by State strategic priorities and objectives.
Council recently provided a range of opportunities for the community to have a say on a range of these key planning strategy documents between 4th February until 5pm, Friday 17 March 2017. A public feedback report of the findings will be available in May 2017.
There are four streams of strategic planning underway, which will culminate in the Willoughby Planning Strategy. Each stream has a different focus in order to provide a complete plan for Willoughby’s future.
- Chatswood CBD – Council’s Draft Planning and Urban Design Strategy
- Local Centres in Willoughby
- Industrial Lands
- Housing in Willoughby
Further details can be found in the associated planning documents on the right hand side of this screen.
The surveys included an open question for further comment or suggestions or the option to email a submission to email@Willoughby.nsw.gov.au Council also provided a range of opportunities for the community to have their say by attending a Drop-In Session to view the plans and talk to specialist planning staff; or to attend a Roundtable to discuss the proposals in more detail.
After the publication of the independent Submissions Report, Council intends to finalise the Chatswood CBD Planning Strategy and issue draft Strategies on Housing, Local Centres and Industrial Lands for further community and stakeholder comment later this year.
Please keep your eye on the Council Website for further information as it emerges in coming months.
