This consultation has concluded.
Update
Thank you for your feedback. The floodlights were upgraded in 2020.
Background
Chatswood Rotary War Memorial Athletics Field is an important open space resource in the Willoughby Council area with significant recreational and environmental value.
Willoughby City Council welcomes your feedback on the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for the replacement of the current floodlights at the Chatswood Rotary Athletic Field. Consultation closes on 12 July 2019.
There are currently 2 x 25 metre high floodlight poles at the athletic field; these lights do not comply with the Australian Standards for sports lighting and will be removed. A new lighting plan has been prepared, with 6 new poles (4 x 20m, and 2 x 22m) providing safe lighting over the playing field surface.
The proposed work requires a Review of Environmental Factors under Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. The review document can be viewed or downloaded from the Document Library on the right hand side of this page.
Key issues of the REF:
Removal of existing 2 floodlight poles 25 metres high.
6 new floodlight poles around the field perimeter
New poles proposed to be: 4 x 20 metres high, and 2 x 22 metres high.
Hours of use: from sunset to 9.15pm
Your feedback is important to us and we welcome your participation by taking a few moments to complete the online survey.
