Consultation has concluded

The revised Draft Mayor and Councillors' Expenses and Facilities Policy allows for councillors to receive adequate and reasonable expenses and facilities to enable them to carry out their civic duties as elected representatives of their local communities.

All councils are required to review and adopt a Mayor and Councillors' Expenses and Facilities Policy within 12 months after an ordinary election of council.

The revised draft Policy proposes to combine the annual expense limits for Councillors' professional development over a four year period. This change will ensure that elected representatives can access a diversity of training and costs to support their individual needs.

Other minor updates have also been made in the draft Policy.

Council adopted the revised Draft Mayor and Councillors' Expenses and Facilities Policy at its meeting held on 16 December 2024 and a link to the Council Report is provided as guidance.

Submissions are open on Willoughby City Council’s revised Draft Mayor and Councillors' Expenses and Facilities Policy from 17 December 2024 to 31 January 2025.
