Consultation has concluded
Willoughby City Council sought community feedback to determine the best method for household clean-up collections from 7 July to 11 August 2023. On 27 November 2023, Council moved to retain the existing system and the reports to Council can be found in the Documents Library on this page.
Around 28,000 households use Council's clean-up collection service to discard bulky waste, including furniture and small appliances.
Council considered changing the clean-up collection system. The two options were:
Move to a new system where each household can book four free clean-up collections each year on dates decided by the household
Retain the existing system in which each household can use the three Council-scheduled collection dates and can book one free clean-up collection on a date decided by the household
Please read the community brochure on this page to find out why the Council is considering moving to the new system, and the perceived benefits of both options.
There is currently no change to the existing collection system. If the Council decides to move to the new system, this would not come into effect until March 2024.
Please fill out the survey below before 5pm on Friday 11 August 2023.
Please note: Comments will be included in publications or reports at the end of the consultation. Personal information will not be included.
