We are pleased to advise that Willoughby Council has been successful in receiving funding for the following road safety projects as part of the Australian and NSW Governments' Road Safety Program.
The Australian and NSW Governments are investing significant funding to improve safety and reduce crashes on NSW roads as part of the Road Safety Program.
The Program seeks to improve road safety for pedestrian and cyclists by installing measures such as intersection upgrades, raised crossings and pedestrian refuges.
Transport for NSW Greater Sydney values partnerships with Local Government to plan and deliver infrastructure projects in our communities.
Victoria Avenue (at Oscar Street and Hercules Street), Chatswood
What is proposed?
Wombat crossing - a raised pedestrian crossing to slow down traffic and improve safety on Oscar Street.
Pedestrian refuge - a safe waiting area in the middle of the road to help pedestrians cross the road in stages on Hercules Street.
These upgrades will make it safer and more accessible for pedestrians in the area.
