Do you consider that a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to a successful prosecution, would produce witnesses?

I think a $10,000.00 reward should be offered and recomend it be a maximun 5% ratio of the lowest fine which I suggest should be $200,000.00. Council should provide advice to the community which indicates the type of information/evidence most lkely to lead to a conviction for example, photographs, video, eyewtiness statements etc. Yes I think a $10,000.00 reward will encourage witnesses to come forward.

I think a reward might be helpful but agree with Willa that there will need to be some very specific guidance on what might be useful.

When this sort of thing happens we all have our suspicions but there is not much use in setting neighbour against neighbour on the basis of suspicion - evidence is going to be needed.

I think a reward could be an incentive to report tree vandalism, although because it is usually done at the dead of night, not many people are aware it is happening until next morning.
