The revised process clarifies how incidents of tree vandalism will be dealt with. Are there other steps that could be taken to deter tree vandalism?

A few ideas:
Replacing trees with shipping containers or something uglier
Education for residents about the value of trees
Replacement of trees with fast growing species that block views more completely that existing species.
With regard to investigation - its difficult to see how you are going to be able to catch people red handed without infringing privacy. However, community bushcare type projects give the community more ownership of the landscape and might shame some would be vandals into thinking twice.
Could we get real estate agents to talk about the value of views filtered by trees? Lots of us prefer our views this way.
